About Francis Clark:
Francis Clark was born in what may be the most beautiful and haunting city in America – Savannah, Georgia. Stories hide in the oak trees there, and the city embraces its residents as if it’s alive (which many people swear to be true). As with most old southern families, stories are hidden in his family, as well, with drunkards, suicides, and brothel madams balancing out the Cherokees and early Virginia patriots.
After graduating from Occidental College in Los Angeles, Francis joined the Navy and served in the submarine force. Following his time in the service, his gift of gab led him to a career in advertising, where he worked as an account executive and copywriter. He has also been an HTML programmer, a magazine editor, and the manager of a motorcycle shop. He’s had a lifelong love of two wheels and is still a rider and enthusiast, fond of Buells and Ducatis.
In his 50’s, he decided to become a writer, went to graduate school, and wrote his first novel. That novel, WAKING BRIGID, will be published by Tor Books in Spring 2008. He is currently at work on a sequel to BRIGID, which, like all his work, deals with the themes of religion, myth, and fantasy.
